This--a pic & snippet from the Amsterdamize blog--is the kind of bike-friendly infrastructure I dream of. Wouldn't it be lovely to be able to use the roads and not feel like you're taking your life into your own hands, every single time???
"This configuration is very common on smaller roads. Cars share the central lane and yield to cyclists at all times. If two cars meet, they may invade the bicycle lanes, but only if no one’s coming.
